Before calling New Zealand “home” Ian worked and lived in various countries in Africa and across the world. Been a Chartered Accountant, a Forensic Auditor and an Infrastructure Project Management Professional his professional career covering 30 years has always included significant diversification across the international infrastructure and housing spectrum.

Since moving to New Zealand in 2018, Ian has been integrally involved in the infrastructure and housing affordability challenges through tenures with Auckland Council and Kainga Ora. His current role at Auckland Council requires an integrated collaborative approach, comprising all infrastructure providers, Local and National Government Agencies, and the development community, in an attempt to achieve a more affordable housing regime.

Ian has been married for 27 years and has an 11-year-old daughter. As a family they enjoy the beautiful New Zealand outdoors and in his spare time he is quite an accomplished endurance road runner. Ian will approach every day with one goal in mind. “How do I leave a lasting legacy for many generations to come through enabling a more affordable housing environment, accessible to all New Zealanders”
