Donna is a nationally recognised advocate for Kaumātua wellbeing, with over 20 years of experience leading community-led initiatives that uplift ageing Māori. As Deputy CEO of Rauawaawa Kaumātua Charitable Trust, Donna has been instrumental in advancing culturally grounded models of care that integrate health, housing, and social connection.
She co-led the development of the He Kāinga Pai Rawa: Kaumātua Housing Toolkit and is a key figure behind Rauawaawa’s Dementia and Age-friendly, facility upgrade. Donna also helped establish the Kaumātua Olympics and co-founded REKA, a Kaumātua-driven social enterprise.
Donna's leadership reflects a deep personal and professional commitment to equity, innovation, and kaupapa Māori design. Her work continues to shape partnerships, and infrastructure for age-friendly communities across Aotearoa. At this conference, she brings practical insights that honour mana, foster belonging, and support healthy ageing in place.
